Australian premium low-volatile hard coking coal prices increased by $21.50/t to $339/t FOB on 6 Dec’21, following a spot transaction concluded at $340/t FOB on 3 Dec’21 for 70,000 t of Riverside branded Australian mid-volatile coking coal, with late-Dec’21 laycan. Meanwhile, weather conditions in Australia’s coking coal producing hub of Queensland have deteriorated with heavy rains impacting coal transportation logistics.
