India’s Top-7 Coal Producing Companies in Jan-Oct’21

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is one of the major coal-producing company of India. It is one of the eight subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. In Jan-Oct’21, MCL Produced 132 million tonnes (mn t) of coal, up 4% y-o-y. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) is the second-largest coal-producing company with 125 mn t, up 5% y-o-y followed by Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) in third place with 95 mnt, up 3% y-o-y. It is to be noted that India’s total coal production in CY’20 was at 722 mn t.
