India’s Country-wise Coking Coal and Met Coke Imports in Jan-Oct’21

India’s total coking coal and met coke imports increased 12% y-o-y in Jan-Oct’21. Australia accounted for 77% of India’s coking coal imports in Jan-Oct’21, registering a 27% y-o-y growth. India imported 37.88 mn t of the material from Australia, 2.72 mn t from USA and 1.76 mn t from Canada. It is to be noted that India imported 55.12 mn t of coal and met coke in CY’20. Coking coke imports in the period under review amounted to 47.20 mn t and met coke, at 2.21 mn t.
