Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted an auction from its Chhattisgarh-based Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) for defective steel products on 19 Oct’21. The bid prices for steel blooms increased by INR 800/t ($10/t) against the previous auction conducted on 9 Oct’21.
Around 5,368 tonnes (t) of defective steel were put up for auction. Buyers actively participated and booked the entire quantity.
Two lots of CC-billets were also offered in which the bids received were at INR 48,850-49,100/t exw.
SteelMint’s daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 48,600/tonne (t) exw-Raipur on 19 Oct’21.
