Major merchant chrome ore miner, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), has scheduled an auction for 35,100 t of chrome ore lumps on 16 Oct’21, as per sources. Base prices of various grades of chrome ore to be auctioned have been increased by up to 22% on a monthly basis. The hike in base prices for the auction come on the back of rising domestic ferro chrome prices. Currently, ferro chrome prices are hovering at INR 135,000/t ex-Jajpur, higher by INR 27,000/t m-o-m.
