Global crude stainless steel output rises by 25%, y-o-y, in H1CY’21

Global crude stainless steel production was at 29 mn t in H1 CY’21 – up 24.9% on the year compared to same period last year. Stainless steel production in Europe increased by 20.3% to 3.83 mnt, while production in the U.S. stood at 1.28 mn t. Asia’s output, excluding China and South Korea, was at 3.73 mn t. China production jumped 20.8% in H1 CY’21 to 16.24 mn t.
