Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market are stable today, as per SteelMint assessment. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 38,100/t, while attachment scrap prices have been reported at INR 39,100/t. Improving conversion spread from melting scrap to semi-finished steel as well as healthy transactions on a d-o-d basis resulted in a minor improvement in prices today, SteelMint notes.
