China: Ferrous futures jump on power cut worries

Iron ore and steel futures in China jumped on 27 Sep’21 amidst production controls due to power cuts. Closing prices:

• DCE iron ore futures Jan’22 contract: RMB 703/t ($108.7) (+RMB 18.5)
• SGX iron ore futures Oct contract: $121.20/t (+$10.2)
• SHFE re-bar futures Jan’22 contract: RMB 5,564/t ($861) (+RMB 96)
• SHFE HRC futures Jan’22 contract: RMB 5,592/t ($865) (+RMB 81)
