According to customs data, China’s chrome ore imports were recorded at 1.21 mn t in Aug’21, up 21.5% compared to 1 mn t in Jul. Rising prices of chrome ore in line with ferro chrome prices boosted the buying interest of ferro chrome smelters in China. Meanwhile, chrome ore imports increased by 11.4% on a yearly basis in the Jan-Aug’21 period.
