Sponge iron prices in Odisha’s Rourkela rose by INR 100/t today. SteelMint’s assessment for sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) stands at INR 30,600/t exw-Rourkela.
- Around 6,250 t of deals were confirmed at INR 30,300-30,500/t exw as against offers at INR 30,700/t.
- A deal comprising of 1,000 t (FeM 82%, 100% lumps) was reported at INR 31,200/t exw-Rourkela.
- According to sources, increasing billet prices, which rose by INR 150/t today, resulted in an increase in sponge iron prices.
