Cold-rolled coil (CRC) sheet cutting scrap offers were assessed by SteelMint at INR 40,900/t in Punjab’s Mandi Gobindhgarh today, while in the Chennai and Jalna markets prices were at INR 37,300-37,600/t and INR 38,200-38,600/t DAP, respectively, excluding GST. CRC sheet cutting scrap is generated during the process of clipping, stamping, punching, etc. from auto, white goods or engineering manufacture. It is a clean and alloy-free industrial material with the melting yield in the range of 98-99% (+/-1%). CRCA scrap is mostly consumed in foundries and very limited consumption is recorded for induction furnaces due to higher costs along with limited availability.
