Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan fell by RMB 50/t ($8/t) d-o-d on 17 Aug’21. The price of the domestic billet was reported at RMB 5,040/t ($777/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. Overall billet trading, however, remained modest. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s re-bar futures contract for Jan’22 delivery witnessed a slight d-o-d increase of RMB 17/t ($3/t) to settle at RMB 5,345/t ($824/)t today.
