China’s steel imports in Jul’21 dropped to 1.05 mn t from 1.25 mn t in Jun’21, a m-o-m drop of 16.21%, according to recent data released by customs. Muted buying interest because of high freights and vessel unavailability in Jun’21 restricted import bookings. Also, imports saw a sharp decline of 60% when compared with 2.61 mn t in CPLY.
