India: Exports by SAIL comprise 11% of total steel sales in Q1FY’22

State-run steel major SAIL exported about 11% of its total sales volumes in Q1FY’22, SteelMint learns from the company’s recent investors’ call.

Exports by SAIL touched 0.366 mn t while total sales stood at 3.327 mn t in Q1FY’22. Sluggish domestic demand due to the second wave of Covid-19, and higher realisations in the exports markets resulted in increased outbound shipments in the Apr-June’21 period.
