Sponge iron prices remained strong across markets on 2 Aug’21 despite price corrections in iron ore and pellet. Seasonal supply shortage resulted in prices moving north, SteelMint notes. Today, price of pellet sponge (P-DRI, FeM 80%) rose by INR 100/t to INR 30,700/t exw-Raipur.
- About 2,500 t of P-DRI deals were reported at INR 30,700/t as against offers at INR 30,700-30,800/t on exw and FoR Raipur basis.
- Prices of DR CLO grade sponge iron remained strong and were assessed at INR 33,700-33,800/t exw.
