Private pig iron producers in West Bengal and Jharkhand are continuously raising offers following active demand amidst supply shortage in the spot market.
Giridih-based Atibir Industries in Jharkhand has raised offers by INR 1,000/t to INR 38,500/t exw, as per sources.
Plants in West Bengal’s Durgapur have increased offers by INR 300-500/t to INR 38,800-39,000/t exw.
Amidst optimistic sentiments, sources expect pig iron prices to remain strong as supply by the state-owned mills remain limited in the spot market due to growing export commitments.
