Mining to metals major Vedanta Ltd has launched a new iron ore product line this year at its Black Mountain Mine operations in South Africa’s Northern Cape, as per reports. According to Vedanta Zinc International, the company has undertaken steps towards developing a 3 mn t/year project, with the successful first production from a pilot plant expected in FY’22. The first part of the project will utilise feed from existing operations to produce high-grade iron ore and dense media separation products (DMS), to be utilised as feedstock for the steel and coal industries respectively, Vedanta officials informed.
