India: Godawari to set up 1.5-2 mn t/year flat steel mill in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh-based steel producer, Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd (GPIL), has declared in its latest regulatory filing that the company is setting up an integrated steel plant in the central Indian state with a capacity of 1.5-2 mn t/year. The proposed mill will specialise in the production of flat products, SteelMint has learnt, in order to reap advantage of the government’s Production-Linked Incentive Scheme. The estimated capital outlay for the plant will be around INR 3,000-4,000 crore, GPIL has informed.
