Amid tight supply and rising Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, prices for 5,000 GAR and 5,800 GAR grade coal have risen sharply by over $3/t to $93.7/t and $105.6/t respectively on a week-on-week basis. After marginal correction over the last two weeks, the price for 4,200 GAR grade also rose by $1.3/t on week to $64.9/t. Heavy rains and the worsening Covid-19 situation in Indonesia are impacting the country’s coal supplies and thereby supporting prices.
