Billet prices in China’s Tangshan fell by RMB 10/t ($2) today. Overall transactions for billets were weak, while finished steel prices softened to varying degrees. Domestic billet prices stood at RMB 5,120/t ($790/t) inclusive of 13% VAT. However, a sharp decline in prices is unlikely on production cuts and rising steel futures.
