South Korea: Ferrochrome imports drop by over 39% on month in May’21

South Korea’s ferrochrome imports decreased by 39.2% to 35,056 t in May’21, as per customs data. The fall in imports is mainly due to a decline in imports from India, down by 91.8% compared to Apr’21. Low inventory held by Indian mills and higher ferrochrome prices reduced South Korean buying interest from Indian producers.
