In a confirmed deal, 5,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 7,850/t at Gangavaram port despite offers ranging high at around INR 8200/t. RB2 prices at Vizag and Mangalore stood at INR 8,000/t whereas offers at Haldia were assessed at INR 9,200/t on 8 Jun’21. Traders expect RB2 prices to remain firm as RB1 (6000 NAR) grade coal prices have risen to $113.9/t, up 30% since Jan’21.
