French energy major Total and integrated steel producer AM/NS India have signed an agreement for the supply of up to 500,000 t of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year until 2026, SteelMint gleaned from latest reports. The LNG, sourced from Total’s global portfolio, will be offloaded either at Dahej or Hazira LNG terminal in Gujarat. It will be used by AM/NS to run its steel and power plants in Hazira, which is expected to result in substantially reduced carbon emissions by the steelmaker.
