An Indian mill has recently concluded an export tender for around 45,000 t basic grade pig iron for June shipment. The deal was heard to have concluded at around $580/t CFR China. Indian pig iron export prices have risen by $20-25/t against the last deal concluded from India in the first week of May’21. Indian pig iron exports to China have regained momentum after the recent announcement by the Chinese govt slashing import tariffs on pig iron to 0%, effective from 01 May’21.
