Govt-owned steel mill – SAIL conducted an auction for a total of 2,500 t basic grade pig iron today from its IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur. The 2,000 t pig iron (by rail) was booked at INR 38,500/t exw and 500 t (by road) was booked at INR 38,600/t exw. The previous auction conducted on 05th May for 4,000 t fetched INR 37,000/t exw (wtd avg) but the IISCO management had not approved it.
