Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has scheduled an auction on 10 May ’21 for 10,700 t (52 & 60 kg-full length) commercial rails from its Bhilai Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh. In the previous auction conducted on 21 Apr’21 for 6,400 t, buyers booked 4,800 t (rail 60 kg) at a weighted average price of INR 38,250 /t and 1,600 t (rail 52 kg) at INR 41,500/t exw. According to SteelMint’s data, BSP has sold around 100,000 t commercial rail in the local market from Dec’20 to Apr’21.
