An Eastern India based supplier has reported 2 rakes (around 5,000 t) of sponge iron (70:30 mix) export deals to Nepal. The deals have been concluded at around $390/t loaded to rake, Eastern India, which is slightly higher compared to the last deals. The landed cost of these to Nepal would be around $415/t CPT Nepal. The country imports about 20,000-25,000 t sponge iron monthly from India which is mostly supplied by Odisha & Jharkhand based plants.
