Indian sponge iron export prices increase in recent deals

Bangladesh is actively booking sponge iron from India. Recently around 10,000-12,000 t deals were reported by the Eastern India based exporters. As per them, the deal price is about $435/t CPT (equivalent to $450/t CFR Chittagong). As buyers require prompt deliveries, the material is mostly delivered through the sea route via barge. Leading exporters reported that it has recently dispatched sponge iron through barge & the remaining deliveries are also lined up to be delivered through the sea route.
