State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction today for 9,200 t (steel grade) pig iron from Rourkela Steel Plant, Odisha. Buyers booked the entire quantity at a weighted average price of INR 38,600/t (exw). Notably, prices touched an all-time high so far at SAIL pig iron auctions. At the previous auction from RSP on 27 Mar’21, the total quantity of 4,000 t had been sold off at a weighted average price of INR 35,450/t (exw).
