India: Passenger vehicle sales increase 11% y-o-y in Jan ’21

The total domestic sales of passenger vehicles stood at 2, 76,554 units, 11% y-o-y last month against 2, 48,840 units in Jan ’20, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The total production of the passenger vehicles declined 2% y-o-y at 3, 03,834 units in Jan ’21 compared to 3, 10,864 units in Jan ’20. Meanwhile, total exports reported a marginal rise by 1% y-o-y at 37,187 units in Jan ’21.
