India’s total Coking Coal imports increased by 80% to 0.99 MnT during the week ended on 8 Mar, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 0.99 MnT at the end of week 10, which has increased from 0.55 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported Coal, around 25% was Coking Coal comes from different destination.
Australia, South Africa & Canada were the major supplier of Coking Coal last week. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.69 MnT from Australia and about 0.24 MnT & 0.06 MnT imported from South Africa & Canada respectively.
Considering 33 major & minor Indian ports, Vizag has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.21 MnT of Coal. Contribution of quantity was given by SAIL & Uttam Galva. Paradip, the second highest quantity port imported around 0.20 MnT belongs to SAIL & Bhusan Steel.
SteelMint assessed that SAIL & JSW Steel are the major importers and imported around 0.42 MnT& 0.19 MnT respectively. TML Logistics has imported around 0.16 MnT at Dhamra port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal
