Iron ore miners in Karnataka sold around 27.7 MnT Iron ore through e-auction in FY14 (till Feb) by MSTC and JSW was the biggest buyer with total purchase of 16.4 MnT (I.e. 59% of total sales). Iron ore sales in Feb’14 decreased by 47% M-o-M.
- Iron ore sales had fallen from 4.7 MnT in Jan’13 to 2.5 MnT in Feb’14 as buying was good from major buyers in Jan ’14. Therefore, volumes came down in Feb ‘14
- JSW was the biggest buyer and purchased 1.1 MnT Iron ore
- NMDC sold 1.2 MnT Iron ore and other mines sold 1.4 MnT
