Steel Authority of India Limited conducted an auction from its central India based Bhilai Steel Plant for defective steel products on 05 Dec ’20. The auction witnessed an increase of INR 1,000/t in bid prices compared to the last auction conducted on 27 Nov ’20.
A total quantity of 29,292 t defective steel was put up for the auction, out of which 26,729 t (91.25%) was sold and the remaining 2,563 t left unsold. In the previous auction held on 27 Nov’20, the share of the total sold quantity was around (93.78%). Domestic billet prices have increased following a hike in sponge iron prices and bullish sentiments amid hike in offers by primary mills.
