Domestic melting scrap prices increased by INR 100-400/t d-o-d, in most of the major consuming markets. Current trade price for HMS (80:20) is assessed at INR 24,800/t Jalna, INR 24,600/t Chennai (DAP). Improved trades in semi-finished and finished steel and supportive price hike in other substitute products (sponge iron), remained as the main factors behind the price rise.
