Merafe’s ferro chrome production down by 37% y-o-y in Jan-Sep’20

South African mining major, Merafe released its ferro chrome production figures for Q3 (Jul-Sep’20) at 48,000t. Production from the Glencore Merafe joint venture in the nine-month period (Jan-Sep) is recorded at 168,000t, down by 37% y-o-y. The decrease is attributed to cutbacks in response to dull market conditions and electricity supply curtailments.
