South Korea’s ferrous scrap import rises 11% in September

South Korea- one of the largest ferrous scrap importer, observed an increase in scrap imports by 11% m-o-m. Import volumes stood at 0.29 mn t in Sep’20 against 0.26 mn t in Aug’20. Imports from Japan increased and stood at 0.23 mn t in Sep’20, while volumes from Russia and US noticed a fall. Amid the recovery in steel production, scrap imports have also increased.
