Vietnam: Steel imports shrink by 3.2% on year to 10.5 mn t in Jan-Sept’20

According to Vietnam Iron & Steel Association, the country’s iron and steel imports in the Jan-Sept’20 period shrank 3.2% to 10.5 mn t. The leading exporters to Vietnam were China, India, Japan and S. Korea. The country imported 1.1 mn t in Sept’20, marking a decline of 4.4% y-o-y. In 2019, the country had imported 14.6 mn t of iron and steel, while exporting 6.6 mn t.
