India: AM/NS India clocks pellet imports of 138,202 t in Q2 FY21

Tightening merchant supplies of iron ore have resulted in integrated steel major AM/NS India importing 138,202 t of pellets in Q2 FY21, SteelMint’s imports data reveal. Iron ore supplies from Odisha have taken a hit with the newly auctioned mines slow to start operations. Sourcing from NMDC too has been affected of late. AM/NS India runs pellet plants in Paradip and Vizag that supply raw materials to its 8 mn t pa Hazira steel plant.
