Japan: Crude steel production increases 8% m-o-m in Jul’20

Japan’s crude steel output during Jul’20 recorded 6.04 mn t, up by 7.6% m-o-m as against 5.61 mn t in Jun’20, according to the data released by Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). Steel demand in Japan has been recovering and steel mills have started ramping up their production in response to demand recovery. Recently, JFE Steel announced considering resumption of a suspended blast furnace.
