Pig iron exporter based in Goa is likely to ship 33,000 MT of Pig iron to South Korea in the first week of February. The vessel Alam Setia is to reach port of Pohang.
The Goa based Pig iron producer is now the largest exporter in private sector and has been exporting Steel grade material in big quantities, July 2013 onward. Since the year 2000, it was exporting Pig iron (foundry grade) in small quantities in containers.
The exporter has already shipped 33,000 MT of Pig iron from Mormugoa Port in this month. The deal had been finalized at USD 420/MT CFR.
Freight charges were quite high at USD 31-32/MT last month. On FoB basis, prices stood at around USD 388-389/MT. This was the second deal between both the parties.
