China iron ore pellet imports surged 67% Y-o-Y in CY19 to 31.3 MnT against 18.7 MnT in CY18. China’s pellet volumes from India have increased sharply to 9.1 MnT in CY19 against 6.4 MnT in previous year.
The average prices of Brazilian pellet depicted a sharp change over the years from USD 82/MT, CFR China in CY15 to USD 124/MT, CFR China in CY19 (E). However, on yearly basis the average prices have dropped 8% in CY19 against USD 135/MT, CFR China in CY18.
Chinese import volumes of pellet from Ukraine has increased sharply by 74% on yearly basis to 4.16 MnT in CY19 (E) as compared to CY18 imports at 2.39 MnT.
