Primary Steel Producers need Re-bar Conversion Agents

Primary Steel producers, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam and Steel Authority of India need conversion agent for Re-bar and Structure. 

RINL an Indian government-owned Steel producer, based in Visakhapatnam with more than 3 MnTPA production capacity of Re-bar needs Re-bar and Structure conversion Agent at Colombo, Sri Lanka before 20 Jan, 14.

Also, SAIL, one of the largest state-owned steel-making companies based in New Delhi with a Re-bar production capacity of approx 1.6 MnTPA, needs TMT conversion Agent at Hajipur by 07 Jan, 14.

RINL and SAIL offer stand same for 12mm Re-bar i.e. at around INR 42,750/MT. Whereas Tata Steel, an Indian multinational steel-making company, headquartered in Mumbai, is offering Re-bar at around INR 42,250/MT, i.e. about INR 500/MT lower. Guardian Steels, a secondary Re-bar manufacturer in Mumbai is offering 12mm Re-bar at around INR 39,600/MT.

A primary (SAIL, RINL and Tata) Re-bar dealer based at Mumbai said, “Primary producers’ offers are same, as demand for Finish long is not encouraging from past 2-3 months. Also, there are no major changes seen in secondary Re-bar market.”

SAIL Re-bar dealer based at Chennai, confirmed that market is dull owing to low trading activities. SAIL is offering 12mm Re-bar at around 42,500/MT and 8mm Re-bar at around 43,000/MT. Discount of 400-500/MT is also been given on bulk quantity. Local offers are at around INR 38,500/MT for the same size. Demand is very poor in Tamil Nadu but, in other states it is better,” he further added.
