Gonua iron and manganese mines, owned by Mr. Pawan Kumar Ahluwalia has received enhancement in its iron ore production limit.. Located in Koira, Sundargarh district,Odisha, Gonua Iron ore and Manganese mines enhanced their iron ore production from 0.36 MnT pa to 1.20 MnT pa.
Gonua Mines is one among the 20 mines that are going to expire on Mar’20 and has been put up for auction. The mines is spread in an area of 86.886 Hects, out of which 74.70Hects is mineralised area and 12.18Hectsis non-mineralized area and has G2 level of exploration done.
Total geological resource of the Gonua mines as on 12 June’19 is 101.3 MnT of high grade ore (55% Fe cut off) and 17.88 MnT low grade ore (45% Fe to 55% Fe). Projected Resources, a total of 119.2 MnT iron ore.
Projected resources as on date 31 Mar’20 is 101 MnT high grade ore (55% Fe cut off) and 17.83 MnT low grade ore (45% Fe to 55% Fe), a total of 118.9 MnT iron ore.
