South Western Railway’s Hubli division freight earning goes up

The Hubli division of the South Western Railway (SWR) zone,one of the highest revenue earning divisions on Indian Railways has recorded freight earnings of Rs 1,017.97 crore in the first four months of registering a growth of 27.6% from previous year.

 

Despite volatility in the demands of iron ore in international market and no loading of Iron ore at Bellary Iron Ore Pvt Ltd and Oblapuram Mining Corporation due to legal issues, the freight earnings achieved up to July has been Rs 1,017.97 crore, the press release said.

 

Works such as Bellary by-pass line construction and strengthening of Kulem and Sankaval stations on Iron ore route have been completed.

 

3 private sidings at Ranjitpura and Kudatini have been commissioned, said Mr Praveen Kumar Mishra, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubli Division.
