Odisha Government Sanctioned Essel Mining's 1.2 MnTPA Pellet Project

The Odisha government has formally approved the proposal of Essel Mining and Industries (EMIL) for setting up of 1.2 MnTPA capacity Pellet plant.

The project proposal has been cleared at the Single Window Clearance Authority (SWCLA) today.

As per the proposal, the Aditya Birla Group Company would invest Rs 379 crore for setting up the plant at Koida tahsil of Sundargarh district.

The project has become very important for the mining major, as it is trying to comply itself with the new rules of the state government, which restricts mining for captive purposes only.

Essel mining is one of the top commercial miners in the state, which has mines in both Koira and Joda mining circles.

In Joda, company has operations in Kasia iron ore and ling-Langolatta iron ore and manganese mines.

The SWCLA meeting held on Monday has also cleared the proposals of Arya Integrated Steel Ltd's 0.3 MnTPA Steel plant at Malanda and Dhanurjayapur under Barbil tahsil in Keonjhar, SSAB Energy & Minerals 3 MnTPA Iron ore benification plant and 1.8 MnTPA Pellet plant at Dhanurjayapur in Keonjhar district.

The proposals of SKJ Ispats 0.6 MnTPA Pellet plant, K.K.Pellets 0.6 MnTPA Pellet plant and Fortune Iron & Steel's 0.6 MnTPA Pellet plant has also been cleared by SWCLA.
