As per latest customs data, South Korea flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212 (GP/GC) inch up on monthly basis by 1% to 1.98 MnT in Aug’18 against 1.96 MnT in Jul’18.
However on yearly basis the same moved up by 2% in Aug’18 against 1.95 MnT in Aug’17.
During first eight months of (Jan-July) of CY18 nation’s flat steel exports stood at 14.7 MnT ,lower by 3% against 15.15 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

Country-wise flat steel exports in Aug’18- China stood as the largest flat steel importer of South Korea and has imported 0.28 MnT of flat steel in Aug’18 higher by 4% against 0.27 MnT in previous month.
Second largest importer was Japan which stood at 0.20 MnT in Aug’18 fell by 17% against 0.24 MnT in Jul’18.
Similarly India procured 0.25 MnT, Mexico at 0.17 Mnt,Thailand at 0.13 MnT followed by United states 0.15 MnT ,Indonesia at 0.06 MnT and Vietnam at 0.08 MnT in Aug’18.
South Korea flat steel Imports in Aug’18-Nation’s flat steel imports stood at 0.6 MnT in Aug’18 up by 27% M-o-M basis against 0.47 MnT in previous month.However on yearly basis the same plunged by 25% in Aug’18 against 0.8 MnT in Aug’17.
Meanwhile China and Japan stood as the largest exporter of flat steel in the month of Aug’18.China stood at 0.31 MnT in Aug’18 which was higher by 24% against 0.25 MnT in previous month.Also Japan flat steel imports stood at 0.27 MnT in Aug’18 ,up by 29% against 0.21 MnT in Jul’18.
