Seaborne anthracite coal prices have increased slightly this week—on the back of higher coking coal as well as breeze coke prices.
Nevertheless, the Indian anthracite coal market has shown no sign of any improvement. A sluggish demand continues to prevail in the end market as the industrial buyers still hunt for alternate cheaper steelmaking raw materials like black coal.

Presently, anthracite coal import offers have gone up to around USD 138/MT FOB Russia, which amounts to USD 151/MT CNF India; both these rates are higher by USD 2/MT than the preceding weekly assessment.
