Demand for scrap remains steady in International market

Demand for U.S. ferrous scrap continued to be steady this week, while sales to steelmakers in Asia showed a decline.

Industry sources said that Turkish steel mills ordered four more cargoes from U.S. suppliers this week, adding to the eight they bought earlier this month.

But while demand continues at a steady pace, industry sources said prices have plateaued at $468 to $470 per tonne for the 80/20 mix of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melting steel scrap.
