Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded an increase of 8% in iron ore dispatches to 69.94 MnT in FY’18 against 64.66 MnT in FY’17. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of captive miner- SAIL & Tata Steel.
On monthly basis, iron ore dispatches from Odisha have increased by 16% to 5.87 MnT in Mar’18 against 5.05 MnT in Feb’18.
On Y-o-Y dispatches recorded an increase of 6% in Mar’18 as against 5.52 MnT in Mar’17.
Odisha iron ore dispatches increased in Mar’18 post resumption of operations at mines like Serajuddin, Essel Mining – Koira and Jilling which were suspended over SC order on penalty payment. The resumption of RP Sao may enhance supply further rendering reduction in prices.
Rungta Mines iron ore dispatches up 25%
Among Odisha’s merchant iron ore mines – Rungta Mines dispatched the highest quantity of iron ore 20.9 MnT in FY’18 followed by Serajuddin at 7.51 MnT (down by 18%), KJS Ahluwalia 7.07 MnT (up 28%) and OMC at 5.83MnT (up 12%).
Rungta Mines – India’s largest private merchant miner’s, dispatches increased by 25% against 16.75 MnT in FY’17.
Dispatches of iron ore from KJS Ahluwalia has increased by 28% Y-o-Y in FY’18 to 7.07 MnT as against 5.51 MnT in FY’17.
Iron ore dispatches from state-owned miner- OMC was recorded at 5.83MnT in FY’18, registering an increase of 12 % as against 5.23MnT in FY’18.
