Today, Indian Semi finished prices rise marginally on improved inquiries, the price rise seen in Sponge iron by INR 100-200/MT & Billet by INR 200-500/MT (USD 3-8)
SteelMint’s price assessment for induction furnaces billet size 125×125 mm are stood at INR 32,400-36,600/MT (USD 498-563) ex-plant. And the coal based sponge (78-80 FeM) C-DRI price assessment was at INR 19,700-21,300/MT (USD 303-328); prices are ex-plant & excluding GST.
On 5th Apr 2018 (Thursday) INR to USD exchange rate stood at INR 64.93 & BSE Sensex closed at 33,596(+577).
Trade Updates
— Indian iron ore export decline by 35% in FY18 & stood at 15.7 MnT against 24.34 MnT in FY17.
— Odisha’s merchant iron ore producer – KJS Ahluwalia and Kaypee Enterprises has today announced a price cut of about INR 200/MT in lumps and INR 150/MT in fines.
— Odhisa’s RP sao Iron ore mines get Supreme court consent to operate. Miner has a production capacity of 5.7 MnT and has been closed for around 2 years.
— Supreme court allows Vedanta & other Goan miners to transport already mined iron ore on which royalty has been paid
— Goa based plants have getting offers of 20 ft containerised melting scrap at USD 348-350/MT, 20 MT loading from West Africa
— Raipur, Central India based Integrated plants offer increased, offering Sponge P-DRI at INR 19,800/MT ex-plant
— Durgapur, Eastern India based private pig iron producers have increased prices by INR 500/MT to INR 28,500-28,700/MT against our last assessment. While Raipur – Central India based suppliers are offering steel grade pig iron in the range of INR 29,000-29,200/MT FoR.
— Bhaskar Steel and Ferro Alloy Ltd, an Odisha based plant offered FeM 80 C-DRI at INR 20,000-20,200/MT & Billet at around INR 32,300/MT ex-plant.
— BIOP Steels in South India has offered FeM 80 & 82 C-DRI lumps at INR 20,600/MT & 21,000/MT ex-plant, Karnataka; an official reported.
— Hyderabad, South India based steel manufacturers increased billet offers by INR 500/MT to INR 35,000/MT. Also offering FeM 80 P-DRI & 28 MM Rebar at INR 20,800/MT & INR 37,500/MT. prices are ex-plant & excluding GST.
